A very stylish cushion cover which is available in one colour, natural brown.
The cushion is 40cm (16 inches) square, approximately. They are backed in black velveteen and zipped for easy cleaning.
The brushtail possum or the Trichosurus vulpecula was introduced from Australia to New Zealand in 1837. The reason was to establish a fur industry, once the fur trade died in the 1900's the population of possums in New Zealand exploded.
Current estimate tell us there are approx 60 million possums in New Zealand. Every night these 60 million possums eat 21,000 tonnes of vegetation.
New Zealand plants and trees have no defence against such predators as the possum and therefore the possums decimate the native flora of New Zealand.
Around the 1940's the government in New Zealand started possum control. It now costs approx $58 million a year.
Cleaning your Possum Product
A gentle machine wash or hand wash in warm water using a mild detergent. Spin to remove excess water. Dry flat and in shape away from direct sunlight and artificial heat. DO NOT tumble dry. Take care not to place possum fur on a radiator, steam pipe or in front of a fan heater as this may damage the fibres.
