100% New Zealand Native Birds Wall Print Ready To Hang
A wonderfully detailed vintage print of Buller's Tui. The vintage illustration features the tui (Prosthemadera Novae Zealandiae), it was called the “parson bird” by early European settlers because of the white tuft of throat feathers that looked like the collar worn by a minister or priest. This print showing tan adult and juvenile bird in their favourite kowhai tree was first published in 1888 in the second edition of Buller’s History of the Birds of New Zealand. The original illustration in Buller’s Birds is by the great 19th Century ornithological artist John Keuleman.
The print is an A3 size (297 x 420 mm) and comes ready to hang. It features wooden batons on the top and bottom and is hung a hemp twine. The 200g coated paper print is archival quality. The chart comes packaged in a sturdy cardboard tube.
